It's crazy to think that my little boy is growing up and becoming so independent - in some ways this is awesome and in other ways is causes me a little anxiety. My "mom-motto" is: It's just a phase (more on that in a post yet to come). Fortunately I still have control over his decorating decisions! This is wonderful because I have been dying over the chance to purchase this American Buffalo print from the Animal Print Shop.
As we think about welcoming a seconded baby into our family its time to start transitioning Colton from a gender-neutral baby room to a toddler bedroom which will include a real bed - this scares me to death. So, I'm moving forward slowly... first step: create a gallery wall for a toddler boy!
While we live on a cattle farm, and Colton is proving to be a farm boy to the core, I'm opting for more of an "explorer" theme. (Mostly because I needed the American Bison print in my home). Besides, his room is filled with farm toys.

Colton noticed this new gallery wall right after it was hung up - much more quickly than his dad. He loves to sit on his dresser and touch the buffalo and the arrow.
When my husband saw the new gallery wall his first question was "what does the message say?" "Buffalo 4... arrow?" No message dear.
A few tips to hang your own gallery wall...
1. Map it out your gallery wall design on the floor first
2. Use straight lines - horizontal or vertical - through the center of gallery wall (see above) or horizontal across the top or bottom (see mine above) this is the easiest way to hang a gallery wall.
3. Keep your art tightly hung together - try not to hang your pictures more than 2 inches apart. This goes for beside, above, or below.
Tools I use:
- laser level (best invention ever!)
- standard level - 12" (set on the top of your picture to make sure it's hung straight)
- 3M command strips - I stick mine on the top and bottom of pictures so my child cant get his little fingers underneath the frame and risk pulling the picture down. I feel as though these are a little more secure than a nail.
This is so cute! I really love wall collages. You are so helpful. I'm still trying to get the hang of hanging pictures. Ha! Thanks so much for sharing my post on your Facebook! That really means a lot. I hope you have a great weekend!
